The Foothold City in the Japan Sea Rim

Toyama city is located in the center of Japan. One can travel to the three big cities, Tokyo, Osaka, or Nagoya in only a few hours by JR train. There are periodic flights to Tokyo and to Sapporo. There are international flights to Seoul, Vladivostok, Dalian and Shanghai. Toyama city has an important role as the foothold city in the Japan Sea Rim.

Very convenient

It takes 15 minutes on foot from the JR Toyama Station to the Conference Center. You can see a row of cherry trees on the way and the Tateyama mountains as you walk to the Conference Center. It takes 15 minutes from Toyama Airport by car. When you stand at the front of the airport, you can see the picturesque Tateyama Mountain Range, if the weather is clear. In the surrounding area buses are available. There are street cars in the city too.

Eat, See, and Experience in Toyama

In Toyama city fresh fish can be seen in the Toyama Bay, and "sansai" (mountain herbs) from Tateyama Mountains. Therefore, there are various kinds of restaurants. You can enjoy good food in each season. There is a tour for experiencing things in Toyama. It offers opportunity to see how medicines, or trout "sushi" are made and buy them. As Toyama city is located in the center of the prefecture, it has very convenient access to Tateyama, Kurobe Gorge, Gokayama and Himi.
